Welcome back! The next class I decided to do for Altenew's Educator Certification Program was titled "Beautiful Details" with teacher Marika Rahtu.  Her artistry is stunning.  The way she uses stamps and coloring mediums brings cardmaking to a whole new level and can help anyone not just be a cardmaker but an artist as well. For today's card, I used techniques learned from Marika to use vellum and color using colored pencils.  Here is the card I will be discussing in further detail: Using the carnation stamp, I stamped the image onto vellum paper using VersaMark ink and heat set that with white embossing powder. Next, I selected the color palette from the color pencils I had using shades of purple for the flower and green for the stem and leaves. I first colored in the flower starting with the darkest shade of purple to fill in where the darkest part of the flower would be.  I then followed that with the other shades of purple, blending each color as I go colored. Hello there! If you have been following along in my crafting journey with Altenew's Educator Certification Program, I'm happy to say that I've passed Level 1!  Thank you to everyone who has taken a peek at my blog and supported me along the way😃!   So now onto Level 2! For the first card in these lessons, I'm starting with Beyond Basic Backgrounds in which I learned a new technique - water bleaching! Here is the card I will be discussing below: To start, I grabbed white watercolor cardstock and ink blended two shades of pink, Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry, from the Tim Holtz Distress Ink product line by Ranger.  Using a small blending tool with a sponge dome attached, I started laying down the spun sugar first onto the cardstock in random areas.  Using the picked raspberry, I blended that into the spots surrounding the spun sugar areas.  I then reapplied both colors to get more color onto the cardstock.  I also dried the panel using my heat gun once...

The final challenge I was assigned was to create gift sets of "His" and "Hers" cards using at least three components from what I learned from the courses.  Each set needed to be cohesive but vary slightly.  I also needed to create packaging for each set in which I need to use a recycled item.  Since this challenge incorporated a lot of information, I've decided to divide the challenge submission into two parts, His Card Set and Hers Card Set.  Products used (except for a few) were all from Altenew and I will list what products I used for each card.  For both card sets, I decided to use a birthday theme and also used the same product for the her cards and same product for the his cards but used them differently on each card.
